As a Paralegal Specialist, you will:
Conduct legal research, select relevant evidence, coordinate activities with inter-agency and intra-agency staff, and prepare signature-ready follow-up correspondence, recommendation, and legal documents for docketed proceeding and for filings required by relevant law, including the Congressional Review Act (CRA), Congressionally Mandated Reports Act, Government in the Sunshine Act, and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
Accurately process and track document filings, including maintaining the official record and related files, and timely serving copies of complaints and notices on appropriate parties via e-mail, certified U.S. mail, or courier service.
Review the form and substance of documents filed in formal, informal, and special dockets, including initial complaints and non-attorney admission to practice, for sufficiency and compliance with statutory requirements and the Commission's Rules of Practices and Procedure.
Serve as a point of contact for internal and external communications, including answering routine and complex questions concerning Commission activities, operations, and docketed proceedings.
Keep abreast, and apply understanding, of laws, regulations, software, and technology.
