Telecare- Medical Receptionist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Greet patients with a welcoming and professional attitude via phone, email, and video calls.
· Respond promptly to patient needs in a calm and empathetic manner, provide excellent customer service
· Answer phone calls and patient questions regarding telecare services, scheduling, and general information in a friendly and helpful tone
· Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring that messages and inquiries are promptly addressed
· Provide technical support to patients in setting up and using telehealth platforms
· Initiates translation services as needed
· If applicable, provide patients with initial paperwork and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards
· Register patients, update patient records, and verify insurance accurately and timely
· Maintain complete and accurate documentation
· Determine, collect and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues
· Follow company procedures related to workers’ compensation and occupational medicine patients
· Discharge patients according to the discharge procedure
· Manages follow-up communications to minimize no-shows and cancellations.
· Assist patients with follow-up appointments and medical documentation requests
· Works collaboratively to review patient feedback and reports any issues or concerns to the Telecare Clinical Administrator
· Completes daily callbacks of all patients seen
· Balance daily patient charges (cash, check, credit cards) against system reports
· Complete closing procedures by preparing closing documentation and submitting required reports
· Participates in training and professional development activities to stay current with telecare best practices and technology
· Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment
· Regular attendance to ensure efficient clinic operations
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent. Previous medical office experience preferred but not required. Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office. Accuracy and detail orientation. Excellent customer service skills. Well-groomed appearance. Clear and articulate phone voice.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
HIPPA compliant environment. Standing for extended periods of time. Sitting and keyboarding for extended periods of time. Reaching and stooping for files. High attention to detail and ability to focus. Potential exposure to potentially infectious material and chemicals. Moderate noise level.
