As part of NTT DOCOMO's consumer services division, our mission is to enhance revenue and profitability by exploring innovative partnerships and business development initiatives. Our key focus areas include consumer media, digital advertising and marketing, fintech, entertainment (video streaming, live events, comics), and more.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of new business opportunities across various industries. The successful candidate will play a key role in building the partnership in the U.S. and other international regions by conducting detailed market research, analyzing target companies, and designing business strategies that align with regional goals and objectives. You will work closely with our Japanese headquarters and other global teams to support strategic investments and alliances that drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop collaborative business models with U.S. and other international alliance partners.
- Conduct in-depth market research and detailed analysis of target companies and provide comprehensive reports in Japanese.
- Create and implement business strategies for new ventures and collaborations, aligning with market trends and company objectives in both regions.
- Present to target companies, build relationships, and lead negotiations on partnerships or investments.
- Collaborate closely with DOCOMO's head office in Japan to support strategic initiatives and business development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Required: Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese (both verbal and written).
- Required: At least 5 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or related fields.
- Required: Strong foundational knowledge of corporate finance, particularly in M&A and investment contexts.
- Proven ability to manage cross-border business relationships and negotiations.
- Experience in AI, data science, or consumer-facing media platforms (preferred).
- Familiarity with digital marketing, fintech, video streaming, or entertainment industries (preferred).
Additional Information:
- Occasional evening meetings with the Tokyo team may be required.
- While this role does not include direct reports, the candidate will work closely with Japan's alliance teams.
