Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage all aspects of our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices and will play a key role in the implementation and optimization of QuickBooks for our business. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-Cycle Accounting:

- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger.
- Prepare financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Financial Management:

- Monitor and analyze financial performance to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Handle tax preparation and ensure timely filing of local, state, and federal tax returns.

  • QuickBooks Implementation and Management:

- Help with the implementation of QuickBooks accounting software, including system setup, data entry, etc..
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to QuickBooks.

  • Compliance and Record-Keeping:

- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Maintain organized and accurate records and documentation for all financial transactions and reports.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.

  • Administrative Support:

- Coordinate with external accountants and financial advisors as necessary.
- Assist with other administrative tasks related to finance and accounting.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role, preferably in the commercial subcontracting industry.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, including system implementation and management.

  • Skills:

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.

  • Additional Requirements:

- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with construction accounting practices is a plus.
