Position Overview: As an Assistant Culinary Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our kitchen operations, supporting the Executive Chef in maintaining a high standard of culinary excellence. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Culinary Leadership:
    • Work alongside the Executive Chef to enhance and innovate the restaurant's menu, focusing on the creation and execution of unique dishes.
    • Ensure that all recipes are prepared to the highest standards, maintaining consistency and visual appeal.
  2. Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor kitchen staff, promoting their professional development and culinary skills.
    • Assist in the scheduling and performance evaluation of kitchen personnel, setting clear expectations for the team.
  3. Quality Assurance:
    • Maintain rigorous standards of food quality and presentation, ensuring that every dish meets established criteria.
    • Engage in quality control measures and tastings to uphold excellence in our offerings.
  4. Kitchen Operations:
    • Oversee the efficiency of kitchen operations, including inventory management and cost control, while minimizing waste.
    • Supervise food preparation and plating, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
  5. Creativity and Innovation:
    • Collaborate with the culinary team to design new and seasonal dishes, keeping the menu vibrant and appealing.
    • Continuously seek out new culinary techniques and trends to elevate the dining experience.
  6. Financial Management Support:
    • Assist the Executive Chef in managing food costs, purchasing, and budgeting effectively.
    • Contribute to inventory control efforts to enhance profitability while upholding quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar capacity within a high-end dining environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent training is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Food safety and sanitation certification is advantageous.

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to navigate the kitchen environment effectively.
  • Capability to lift and transport heavy items, such as pots and kitchen equipment.
