Senior Electrical Construction Manager

As a highly skilled construction manager, this role involves guiding other supervisory personnel to achieve or surpass all project goals.

The primary objective of this position is to manage and oversee all on-site construction operations for designated craft areas, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, timelines, and budgetary constraints.

This role demands a comprehensive understanding of the assigned tasks, the capability to navigate complex scenarios through careful analysis and strategic planning, and a focus on long-term objectives.

This position necessitates the ability to coordinate and lead construction professionals across various trades within the designated area of responsibility. Typically, this role encompasses multiple trades, numerous locations, and/or a large workforce, often including direct oversight or coordination of subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee the work activities of all involved trades for assigned construction areas, ensuring alignment with available engineering deliverables, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Authorize the coordination of personnel, materials, and equipment necessary to meet project timelines; responsible for establishing the organization and composition of construction crews, including qualifications of craftsmen, foremen, and general foremen.
  • Support project and construction management with the planning and implementation of appropriate methods for all construction activities.
  • Evaluate situations, identify potential issues, and assess realistic options; recommend and implement suitable courses of action.
  • Uphold and promote the company's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.
  • Possess craft certification, training, and relevant experience for the scope of assignments; typically requiring a minimum of fifteen (15) years of related experience.
  • Effectively communicate with diverse audiences, including management, colleagues, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate job-related technical knowledge essential for successful performance.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and work efficiently within time constraints.
  • Supervise subordinate Craft Superintendents and other supervisory roles, such as General Foremen and Foremen, depending on the size and complexity of the project.
  • Act as the lead coordinator for all activities within an active construction site.
  • Facilitate and implement indirect activities, both internal and external, necessary to support effective construction execution, including functional staff support and resource allocation.
  • Ensure all work performed is within approved scope boundaries and complies with all relevant requirements.
  • May represent the company as the senior staff member directly overseeing the work executed by construction craftsmen.
  • Exhibit a proven ability to foster exceptional customer service and client relationships.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution abilities, and basic computer proficiency, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Demonstrate functional proficiency in project controls, human relations, industrial relations, and contract management as applicable to the assigned responsibilities.
  • Showcase strong decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
