Position Overview
Auto-Owners Insurance, a leading insurance provider, is in search of a proactive Construction Project Intern. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Serving as the owner's representative for various small to medium-sized construction and facility projects.
- Engaging in design discussions, conducting plan and logistics assessments, and coordinating efforts with construction contractors.
- Facilitating communication between design and construction teams, as well as company management.
- Collaborating with other departments within Auto-Owners' real estate division, such as facilities, security, and contract management.
- Providing assistance in non-construction initiatives within the real estate division as required.
- Candidates should be enrolled and entering their junior or senior year in college, preferably majoring in construction management or civil engineering.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic understanding of commercial construction processes and methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans.
- Familiarity with software applications such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Procore or PlanGrid.
- Willingness to learn new software tools.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
