Position Overview: The Duke University Health System - Patient Revenue Management Office (PRMO) is seeking a dedicated Service Access Team Leader who aligns with our mission of Advancing Health Together.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinic Preparation:

  • Review daily patient lists and prepare for upcoming appointments.
  • Manage clinic work queues in accordance with established policies.
  • Handle missing registration items and coordinate referrals and orders.

Patient Check-In:

  • Verify patient identities and update demographic and insurance information.
  • Educate patients on necessary forms and collect payments accurately.
  • Coordinate lab and procedure scheduling as per physician requests.

Cash Management:

  • Explain billing processes and assist patients with financial inquiries.
  • Ensure accurate daily cash collection reconciliation.

Patient Check-Out:

  • Review and schedule follow-up appointments based on patient needs.

Customer Service and Safety:

  • Engage with patients and visitors professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Address patient concerns promptly and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Communication and Administrative Duties:

  • Manage telephone communications and relay messages accurately.
  • Maintain work area supplies and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate clerical activities and assist in employee training and development.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Qualifications:

High school diploma is required.
