The Patient Revenue Management Organization at Duke Health is a comprehensive, centralized revenue cycle entity that enhances the efficiency of the health system's revenue processes. This encompasses essential functions such as scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and more.

Position Details:
This is an ONSITE POSITION with a schedule of Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including occasional late-evening coverage.

Key Responsibilities:
The role involves coordinating and executing various tasks related to the daily clinic preparation process, which includes:

  • Preparing for clinic visits by reviewing upcoming patients and completing necessary preparation activities.
  • Entering pre-visit orders and organizing new patient charts.
  • Managing patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Collecting and posting co-payments and outstanding balances.
  • Coordinating lab tests and procedures as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Communicating effectively with patients regarding billing and insurance information.
  • Answering phone calls and relaying messages to appropriate staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Candidates should possess:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and professional telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and interact positively with patients and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of departmental policies regarding patient information verification and payment collection.

Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in a role involving direct patient interaction or customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
