About the Role

At UnitedHealthcare, we're committed to simplifying the healthcare experience and creating healthier communities. As a Health Engagement Nurse, you'll play a critical role in promoting engagement in clinical/disease management programs, helping to improve member healthcare decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Educate members on health education and condition management, collaborating with OptumHealth to provide formal and informal education, as well as plan specifics and member resources.
  • Refer employees to available clinical programs, including premium designated physicians.
  • Create, manage, and implement employer-specific programs based on employer needs.
  • Monitor and analyze customer-specific health analytic data, developing targeted data-driven strategic plans and programs, and providing support to clinical programs.
  • Clinical interface with facilities and providers for resolution of issues concerning members, benefit interpretation, program definition, and clarification.
  • Knowledge of community resources for referral and community outreach.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with an active and unrestricted license for the state of residence.
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in a hospital, acute care, home health/hospice, direct care, or care management.
  • Solid presentation skills with proven experience delivering group presentations and 1:1 coaching.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including the ability to navigate a Windows environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Case management experience and/or Case Management Certification (CCM).
  • 3+ years of experience in managed care with significant program management experience.
  • Comfortable with individual and group presentations up to 50-100.
  • Previous wellness/disease management, program promotion, education, and development experience.
  • Diabetes education experience.
  • Community outreach experience.
  • Possess familiarity in data analysis (utilization/program outcomes) and reporting.
