About the Role

We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Chaplain II to join our team at Mercy. As a key member of our pastoral care team, you will provide spiritual support and guidance to patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Spiritual Care: Offer emotional and spiritual support to patients, families, and staff, respecting their individual beliefs and values.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Develop and Implement Care Plans: Create and implement personalized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients and families.
  • Provide Education and Support: Offer educational programs and support groups to promote spiritual growth and well-being.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance the spiritual care experience.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Theology, Ministry, Counseling, or related field, with four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
  • Experience: One year of healthcare chaplaincy experience, with a focus on spiritual care and counseling.
  • Certifications: Eligible for certification or in process to become Board Certified Chaplain.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four units of CPE recognized by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC).
  • Three years of chaplain experience, with a focus on specialty areas.
  • Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) certification.
  • Language skills or experience working with specific patient groups.
