Position Summary:
The HR Specialist plays a crucial role in managing a variety of human resources functions and initiatives to improve the overall effectiveness of the HR department. This position encompasses employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and other HR-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Assist in crafting job descriptions and postings.
    • Screen applications, conduct interviews, and manage the hiring process.
    • Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires.
    • Ensure adherence to hiring policies and procedures.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Address employee inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Mediate conflicts between employees and management.
    • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations.
  • Performance Management:
    • Support the performance review process and ensure timely evaluations.
    • Assist managers with performance improvement plans and employee development.
    • Analyze performance metrics to identify trends and improvement areas.
  • Compliance and Policy Administration:
    • Ensure company policies comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR documentation.
    • Manage HR compliance audits and reporting requirements.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Assist in administering compensation and benefits programs.
    • Provide employees with information regarding benefits and HR policies.
    • Support benefits enrollment and resolve related issues.
  • Training and Development:
    • Coordinate and deliver training sessions on HR-related topics.
    • Identify training needs and support professional development initiatives.
    • Maintain training records and assess the effectiveness of training programs.
  • HR Systems and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS.
    • Generate and analyze HR reports to support decision-making.
    • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in HR systems.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Prepare and manage HR documents, including contracts and disciplinary actions.
    • Assist with payroll processing and timekeeping as needed.
    • Support other HR projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 4 years of experience in HR or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
