Our facility provides a wide array of services, including critical care, emergency response, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, physical rehabilitation, surgical procedures, and urgent care.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a committed Veterinary Technician to enhance our Neurology department. $3,000 Hiring Bonus
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and apply knowledge of neurological anatomy and physiology
- Administer high-quality anesthetic induction, monitoring, and maintenance during surgical and imaging procedures
- Calculate and prepare medication and fluid dosages for hospitalized patients
- Assist in surgical procedures and advanced imaging techniques
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placements, urinary catheter placements, and more
- Conduct and recognize normal physical examination parameters in canine and feline patients
- Document changes in patient behavior, condition, and overall attitude
- Gather patient histories and assist during neurologic evaluations
- Collaborate with the Neurologist to enhance patient care
- Engage in client education and maintain accurate patient records using practice management software
- Contribute to the rehabilitation of paralyzed patients
- Execute procedures that do not require veterinarian intervention
Compensation starts at $40.00/hr plus shift differentials and a $3000 hiring bonus for new full-time employees. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location, reflecting the minimum and maximum target for the position.
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time
- 4/10 Schedule - Monday to Wednesday with an additional day each week
- 1-2 Saturdays per month required
- California RVT certification
- 3+ years of experience in a specialty veterinary environment
- Experience in neurology and anesthesia is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with staff and clients, demonstrating patience and professionalism
- Reliable mathematical skills for drug dosages, CRIs, and client invoicing
