  • Stay informed about updates and changes in coding guidelines and healthcare regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers and medical staff to clarify documentation and coding issues.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on coding practices and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Certification from a recognized coding organization, such as the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), is required (e.g., CPC, CCS).
  • Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in medical coding is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in coding and data entry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and coding/billing software.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with healthcare providers and billing teams.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
