Position Overview:
We are seeking a committed Veterinary Technician to enhance our Neurology department. Compensation includes a $3,000 Hiring Bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit mastery of neurological anatomy and its functions.
  • Administer high-quality anesthetic induction, monitoring, and maintenance during surgical and imaging procedures.
  • Accurately calculate medication and fluid dosages for hospitalized patients.
  • Assist in surgical operations and advanced imaging techniques.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placements, urinary catheter placements, and more.
  • Conduct and identify normal physical examination parameters in canine and feline patients.
  • Document and report changes in patient behavior, attitude, and overall condition.
  • Gather patient histories and assist during neurologic evaluations.
  • Enhance patient care through collaboration with the Neurologist.
  • Engage in client education and utilize practice management software for maintaining client and patient records.
  • Contribute to the rehabilitation of paralyzed patients.
  • Execute or set up procedures that do not necessitate veterinarian intervention.
Compensation Details:
Compensation ranges from $40.00/hr, with additional shift differentials and a $3000 hiring bonus for new full-time employees. Our pay structure is influenced by role, level, and geographical location, with the provided range indicating the minimum and maximum target for this position.
Work Schedule:
  • Full-Time
  • 4/10 Schedule - Monday to Wednesday and an additional day each week
  • 1-2 Saturdays each month required
Essential Qualifications:
  • California RVT certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in a specialty veterinary environment.
  • Preferred experience in neurology and anesthesia.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with staff and clients, demonstrating tact, patience, and professionalism.
  • Reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug dosages, CRIs, client invoices, and other relevant calculations.
