Position Title: Chief Technology Officer (reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer)

We are currently in search of a dynamic and seasoned Chief Technology Officer to join our esteemed client, a leading player in the plastics manufacturing sector. This pivotal role will be part of the executive leadership team and will act as a key advisor in addressing the organization's Information Technology requirements.

The Chief Technology Officer will spearhead and guide best practices in data management that align with and advance the organization's strategic objectives. This individual will oversee and provide strategic consultation to leadership regarding all IT operations to fulfill customer needs, as well as the maintenance of existing applications and the development of innovative technical solutions. Additionally, the CTO will continuously monitor security and technology trends to implement improvements that enhance business operations. The primary focus in the initial period will be to lead the organization through the deployment of a new ERP system.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Directing the development of enterprise application and technical architecture functions, ensuring coordination across business, information, technical, and architectural solutions.
  • Leading the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to formulate enterprise application architecture requirements, encompassing data architecture, application security authentication, integration architecture, and documentation of architectural solutions and landscapes.
  • Evaluating business requirements across various departments to ascertain technology needs that are directly aligned with the Company's strategic goals.
  • Establishing departmental objectives that resonate with organizational strategies, creating consistent and reusable technological infrastructures from an approved technology list.
  • Overseeing IT research and development, analyzing technology, industry, and market trends to identify potential impacts and opportunities for the organization in emerging or new technologies.
  • Managing enterprise application architecture implementation activities to reduce costs and enhance efficiencies (e.g., consolidation, platform retirements, etc.).

Human Resources Responsibilities:

  • Supervising, recruiting, and ensuring the training of personnel within the IT Department.
  • Developing professional growth plans for staff that include certifications and education on network security.
  • Assessing the training needs of systems personnel and collaborating with HR to facilitate necessary training provisions.
  • Participating in job-related training, in-house training, and obtaining relevant position certifications.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: 2 years Technical, High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology

Experience:

  • Required: 5 years of experience in IT development and architecture.
  • Preferred: 5 years of experience in IT development and architecture with leadership experience managing cross-technology teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the implementation of Cloud and on-premise technology platforms.
  • Proven experience with ERP technical architecture from project inception through implementation and transition to support.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, technical setup, and implementation of at least one complete ERP project from inception to implementation, as well as leading complex ERP initiatives with successful outcomes, preferably with INFOR Syteline.
