Job Overview

Position: Chief Technology Officer (reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer)

We are currently in search of a driven and skilled Chief Technology Officer to join our esteemed client, a leading manufacturer in the plastics sector.

The Chief Technology Officer will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, guidance, and support in data management practices that align with the organization’s goals. This role will oversee IT operations, ensuring they meet customer needs while maintaining and enhancing existing applications and developing innovative technical solutions. The CTO will continuously monitor security and technology trends to apply them effectively within the organization, enhancing business operations. The primary focus for the initial period will be to guide the organization through the deployment of a new ERP system.

Key Responsibilities:


• Directs the advancement of enterprise application and technical architecture functions, ensuring coordination across business, information, technical, and architectural solutions.


• Leads the identification and assessment of enterprise business drivers to establish application architecture requirements, including data architecture, application security, integration architecture, and documentation of architectural solutions.


• Evaluates business requirements across various departments to determine technology needs that align with the Company’s strategic objectives.


• Develops departmental goals that correspond with organizational strategies, establishing consistent and reusable technological infrastructures based on an approved technology list.


• Responsible for IT research and development, analyzing technology, industry, and market trends to identify potential impacts and opportunities for the organization regarding emerging technologies.


• Oversees the implementation of enterprise application architecture activities to enhance cost-efficiency and operational effectiveness.


• Acts as the technical authority and subject matter expert, serving as a point of escalation for complex architectural and development challenges.


• Collaborates closely with internal and external technical teams to drive ongoing improvements and efficiencies.


• Develops ROI analyses to justify and optimize business and IT investments.


• Ensures that solutions and services deliver expected business value or exceed it.


• Provides clear and consistent communication to senior leadership, ensuring technical solutions align with organizational strategies.


• Promotes the adoption of existing technology where appropriate to leverage enterprise solutions that meet or exceed business partner demands.


• Proactively advises on technology options, upgrades, and innovations for the business.


• Educates business stakeholders on relevant technology capabilities to enable improved IT solutions.


• Participates in the organization's strategic management planning process, providing input and recommendations on telecommunications and database aspects of the plan.


• Engages as a member of the Management Review Team, communicating outcomes to sublevels as necessary and executing actions as required.


• Assesses the training needs of personnel and collaborates with HR to ensure appropriate training provisions are made.


• Engages in job-related training, in-house training, and position certifications.


• Other duties as assigned.

HR Responsibilities:


• Supervises, hires, and ensures the training of employees within the IT Department.


• Develops professional development plans for staff, including certifications and education on network security.


• Evaluates the training needs of systems personnel and collaborates with HR to facilitate necessary training provisions.


• Engages in job-related training, in-house training, and position certifications.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: 2 years Technical, High School Diploma
  • Preferred: BS in Computer Technology

Experience:

  • Required: 5 years of experience in IT development and architecture.
  • Preferred: 5 years of experience in IT development and architecture with leadership experience managing cross-technology teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Comprehensive experience with the implementation of Cloud and in-house technology platforms.
  • Proven abilities with ERP technical architecture from project inception through implementation and transition to support.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, technical setup, and implementation of at least one full ERP project from inception to implementation, as well as leading complex ERP initiatives with positive outcomes.
  • Experience integrating with external systems.
  • Able to implement new technologies and innovate within existing technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data migration strategies and tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing a team and navigating cross-functional boundaries.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and its employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, goal-oriented, and innovative.
