As a Clinical Laboratory Specialist, you will play a crucial role in performing and interpreting clinical laboratory analyses across various disciplines, adhering to established operating procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and assess laboratory tests with precision and accuracy, ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Analyze test results, ensuring they meet accuracy and acceptability criteria, and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Engage in effective communication with healthcare professionals to discuss lab findings and contribute to patient care.
  • Maintain meticulous records of patient specimens and test results, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific field.
  • Licensure as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) may be required depending on state regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Technologist from recognized professional organizations.
  • Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Core Competencies:

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in laboratory information systems and basic computer applications.

Physical and Working Environment:

This role may require physical stamina, including lifting and moving equipment, and may involve exposure to various laboratory conditions.
