We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Select Source International. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and functionality of our laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the upkeep of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Develop and manage documentation related to research activities and conduct laboratory-based chemical analyses.
- Utilize your expertise to address challenges, set objectives for yourself and your team, and contribute to achieving both short-term and long-term business goals.
- Perform testing on raw materials, in-process, and finished products using advanced analytical instruments and wet chemistry techniques.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on quality control equipment and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team to manage waste documentation and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Engage in lab-scale polymerization processes and execute both routine and non-routine sample analyses.
- Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to maintain continuity among work teams.
- Uphold the quality management system as outlined in the Quality System Manual and audit its effectiveness.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace by adhering to EHS programs and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a quality control laboratory or at least 5 years in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work a rotating schedule.
- Associate's degree in Chemistry or Environmental Health with laboratory experience.
- Familiarity with SAP systems.
- Experience with laboratory instruments such as Gas Chromatograph, HPLC, FTIR, and Atomic Absorption.
- Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques, including automated titrations and solid analysis.
- Understanding of waste management regulations and guidelines.
- Mechanical aptitude for general repair and maintenance of QC equipment.
- Training in HAZMAT, RCRA, and DOT regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality control concepts.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated and a collaborative team player.
- Proficient in mathematics and computer applications.
