Position Overview:
The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) plays a crucial role in the holistic management of patients with pulmonary conditions. This position demands a blend of clinical expertise and coordination skills to ensure comprehensive care that encompasses biological, social, nutritional, and psychological assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and coordinate individualized care for pulmonary patients and their families during hospitalization and in outpatient settings.
2. Conduct daily rounds and perform evaluations, ensuring integrated assessments are completed.
3. Collaborate with pulmonary faculty to order necessary tests and consultations based on established clinical guidelines.
4. Execute diagnostic tests and communicate results effectively to the clinical team.
5. Facilitate patient discharge by coordinating essential services and follow-up appointments.
6. Develop and implement a tailored plan of care, which includes education and referrals to other healthcare professionals as needed.
7. Recognize and respond to emergency situations, providing immediate care as required.
8. Engage in educational activities for residents and nursing students, enhancing their understanding of pulmonary care.

Qualifications:
For Nurse Practitioners:
- Master's Degree in Nursing from a CCNE accredited program.
- National Certification from recognized APRN Certification Centers.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the relevant state.
- BLS Certification required; additional Advanced Life Support training may be necessary.
For Physician Assistants:
- Bachelor's Degree as a Medical/Surgical Physician Assistant.
- Graduation from an ARC-PA approved PA training program.
- Certification from the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Must hold or be eligible for licensure by the state medical board.
- BLS Certification required; additional Advanced Life Support training may be necessary.

Experience:
- Prior experience in pulmonary or acute care is preferred, though eligible new graduates will be considered.

Work Environment:
This role involves working closely with others in a dynamic healthcare setting, which may include exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients and equipment.
