Clinical Quality Improvement Specialist

Position Overview: As a vital member of Christus Health, the Clinical Quality Improvement Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing healthcare quality and patient safety. Reporting directly to the Director of Quality, this position is focused on the coordination and acquisition of data from various clinical systems to monitor regulatory compliance and performance enhancement metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management Expertise: Provide specialized knowledge and support for quality management functions, including data abstraction, aggregation, and analysis, as well as comprehensive medical record reviews for quality assessment.
- Performance Improvement Initiatives: Lead the development and maintenance of clinical quality initiatives aimed at driving performance improvement programs across the organization.
- Data Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis and trend identification to uncover opportunities for process enhancement and quality improvement.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Foster a culture of quality by collaborating with various departments, facilitating learning opportunities, and enhancing communication to integrate quality into the organization’s core objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee organization-wide processes to ensure adherence to internal and external regulatory requirements, including preparation for accreditation and certification surveys.
- Patient Safety Advocacy: Promote a safe healthcare environment by implementing best practices, nurturing a culture of safety, and enhancing processes to prevent harm.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a State Board accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
- Associate degree in nursing is required.
- A minimum of three years of healthcare experience is essential.
- At least one year of experience in quality management is preferred.
- CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) certification is preferred.
- Current RN license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas is required.
This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, contributing to the overall mission of Christus Health in delivering high-quality healthcare services.
