Marketing Representative

About the Role
The National Indemnity Company is seeking a highly skilled Marketing Representative to join our team. As a Marketing Representative, you will be responsible for fostering relationships with agencies in our assigned territory, providing marketing information, and engaging in business development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and foster agency relationships in assigned territory, with a travel level of approximately 50% of the time.
- Follow up on action items and questions from visits, communicate issues raised by individual agents, and troubleshoot common problems.
- Initiate contact with prospective agencies by calling them directly to identify characteristics and qualifications, and understand their level of interest in our products.
- Manage advertising for the agency by identifying products to promote, developing ideas with others, and submitting designs for approval.
- Obtain necessary agency licensing and producer information required for the agency appointment process, and submit to the controller.
- Register for and attend conventions or other industry functions to maintain visibility to current and potential customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
- 1-2 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of insurance and rating, as well as insurance products.
- Insurance industry and marketing techniques.
- Preferred to have knowledge of principles of finance, business, statistics, and insurance.
- Plus, having completed insurance-related courses such as CPCU, IIA, or AU.

- Research and evaluation skills, with the ability to reach decisions and make recommendations.
