Job Purpose

The Technical Sales Representative will work closely with prospects and customers to grow our distribution business. This role requires strong technical knowledge of electronic and electromechanical products, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, as well as company procedures and good business practices.
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge, including learning product lines and attributes, and recommending new lines to management.
  • Build relationships with key representatives and principles of product lines.
  • Work with marketing to develop campaigns and host or attend sales and marketing events.
  • Find and contact leads, develop rapport with prospects, and present TLC Electronics and product lines.
  • Identify selling opportunities, design in or cross to our product lines on customer programs, and obtain quotes.
  • Meet and exceed sales activities and goals, and build relationships with key people at customers.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including attending internal meetings, submitting forecasts and expense reports, and managing data in the company's CRM and sales applications.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of selling experience in electronic and electromechanical products at a technical level.
  • Ability to relate to people at all levels, communicating both technically and non-technically.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams).
  • Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time, with frequent regional trips and occasional trips to other states.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of electronic component distribution, wire, cable, interconnect, or electromechanical sales experience, sales processes, technical presentation development, and execution of presentations to small and medium-sized audiences.
  • 5+ years of experience in wire and cable assemblies to Medical, Agricultural, Industrial, autonomous, and solar industries or markets.
