Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Regional Sales Leader is accountable for driving revenue, gross margin, and net profit objectives across designated retail locations as outlined by senior management. This role is pivotal in fostering and maintaining strong, profitable relationships with clients. The Regional Sales Leader ensures effective inventory management, from receipt to display, while safeguarding assets. Additionally, this position is tasked with overseeing planning, staffing, training, and operational directives to achieve sales and operational targets. This role supervises all retail personnel within the assigned region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct sales activities within fitness retail environments and oversee the performance of all stores within the region.
  • Achieve sales, gross profit, and net profit targets through personal contributions and effective team leadership.
  • Guarantee high-quality customer service through active engagement and performance monitoring of team members.
  • Identify and address customer concerns regarding product quality, service timeliness, and value, as well as gather feedback for new offerings.
  • Maintain positive and productive direct customer relationships.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and security of inventory from receipt to sale.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize losses and inventory shrinkage.
  • Advise on optimal store layouts for enhanced customer experience.
  • Ensure sufficient staffing of Store Managers and Sales Consultants while adhering to labor cost objectives.
  • Evaluate training needs and facilitate staff development initiatives.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with all company personnel.
  • Conduct regular meetings to update staff on company developments and strategic direction.
  • Oversee routine maintenance and cleanliness of store environments.
  • Uphold a professional image through staff appearance and store presentation.
  • Assist management in resolving operational challenges.
  • Ensure accurate processing of all financial transactions in accordance with company policies.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to ensure clarity and accountability among team members.
  • Recommend and participate in training programs to enhance skills and competencies.
  • Monitor employee morale and implement strategies to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies and promotional concepts that yield a favorable return on investment.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to devise marketing and advertising strategies that promote growth while minimizing competitive risks.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of product offerings and their benefits through various resources.
  • Analyze sales performance for potential improvements and variances from targets.
  • Monitor market competition and identify new entrants or changes in competitor strategies.
  • Build strong customer relationships and create initiatives to attract new clientele.
  • Research and propose strategies for expanding the customer base.
  • Ensure competitive pricing structures while maintaining profitability in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices.
  • Represent the company positively in all professional interactions.
  • Keep the Regional Sales Manager apprised of all relevant factors impacting responsibilities.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Regional Sales Manager.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred; however, significant experience in retail or business-to-business sales may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of sales management experience within a multi-unit retail or business-to-business sales environment is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proven ability to manage both operational and sales aspects of the business.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing effective training, motivation, and personnel management practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A valid driver's license is required for travel.
