Position Overview:

As part of a nationally recognized crisis response system, the Mobile Crisis Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering immediate support during critical situations. This entry-level position involves responding to crisis calls, conducting interventions for ongoing clients, managing cases, and coordinating care while collaborating with first responders. The role requires adaptability to a fast-paced crisis environment, with responsibilities split between office work and community outreach. Our team is dedicated to mentoring and supporting new therapists in the field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct crisis counseling and follow-up services in various settings, including clients' homes and community locations.
  • Coordinate comprehensive services and maintain effective communication with other departments to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide training and guidance to interns and new staff as directed by program leadership.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery, including thorough documentation of all client interactions and treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally within a cohesive team, supporting colleagues and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Handle potentially volatile situations with professionalism and composure.
  • Oversee the operational status of department vehicles and report any incidents of damage or theft.

Additional Duties:
  • Propose improvements to service delivery and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Engage in agency fundraising initiatives as requested.

Qualifications:
  • A Master's Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field is required.
  • At least two years of experience in crisis services is preferred, particularly in urgent psychiatric settings.
  • Flexibility to extend work hours as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a team.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred, with a differential for bilingual staff.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • Fingerprint clearance or eligibility to obtain one is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old at the time of employment.
