Occupational Therapist Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. The Occupational Therapist will play a crucial role in assessing students' fine and gross motor skills, developing treatment plans, and providing direct therapy services to help students achieve their functional goals.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' fine and gross motor skills and functional abilities to determine program eligibility and develop tailored treatment recommendations.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to coordinate occupational therapy services and develop individualized treatment plans that align with student needs and educational goals.
- Design interventions, educational materials, and treatment plans to address students' motor skill deficits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify structural issues within the learning environment and recommend appropriate assistive technology to remove barriers for students with physical limitations, fostering inclusivity and accessibility.
- Maintain accurate and detailed student records, including progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, and billing information, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Actively participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars to share knowledge, gather insights, and collaborate with other professionals, staying abreast of current trends and advancements in the field.
- Prepare comprehensive written materials such as activity logs, correspondence, memos, treatment plans, and reports to effectively document activities and convey information to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, implementing evidence-based practices to develop their skills in accordance with established goals and objectives.
- Conduct thorough research on resources and methods to determine the most appropriate approach for addressing students' unique functional goals, ensuring individualized and effective interventions.
- Screen students to identify those who may require further individualized assessment, ensuring early intervention and support for students with potential needs.
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Arizona, demonstrating professional competence and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a school setting, showcasing practical skills and knowledge gained through real-world application.
- Strong understanding of fine and gross motor skills, assessment tools, and intervention techniques, reflecting a comprehensive grasp of occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes student success.
