Job Overview:


The Production Engineering Specialist will play a pivotal role in enhancing the operational efficiency of the assembly process, assembly lines, and machinery within the organization.

This position demands effective collaboration within a team framework while also requiring the capability to operate independently when addressing operational support inquiries or executing proactive responsibilities.

The individual will report to the Engineering Manager and will be tasked with the successful development and upkeep of production methodologies, driving enhancements through structured problem-solving approaches to address production challenges.


Key Responsibilities:
Develop and support assembly methodologies for both new and existing products, which includes the design of fixtures/tooling, programming of automated equipment, and PLCs.

Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation and operational instructions.

Enhance factory performance through:
Leader Standard Work

GEMBA process

Zero-Defect Strategies

Comprehensive, Proactive Safety initiatives

Lean deployment

Mistake Proofing / Poke Yoke

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to identify and implement process enhancements through various projects.

Engage with operators and supervisors to interpret and analyze suggestions for improved production methodologies.

Identify root causes and establish corrective measures utilizing structured problem-solving techniques and tools.

Oversee product and process modifications by participating in change control boards.

Monitor the effects of defective materials on operational yields and scrap through involvement in Material Review Board Meetings.

Support validation builds for new or modified processes.

Interface with vendor and subcontractor representatives.

Define and implement production system standards, including staffing models, and provide training to Engineers and Technicians.

Qualifications:


A Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience, a 2-year post-secondary/AA Degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with 2 years of related experience is required.

In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is necessary.

Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in industrial manufacturing, particularly in electro-mechanical assembly.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications such as Word and Excel.

Familiarity with IPC workmanship standards, including IPC-610 and J-STD-001.

Experience in Electro-Mechanical Assembly processes, including fixture design, robotics/automation, and mechanical process equipment.

Lean Six Sigma training, preferably with Yellow or Green Belt certification.

Exposure to Additive Manufacturing processes and technologies.


Ability to effectively communicate with individuals outside of one's department to complete projects that significantly impact departmental outcomes.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Washington State and New York State is $67,000 - $125,000.

For California, Seattle and New York City, the salary range for this role is $76,500 - $142,500.

This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
