Production Systems Engineer

Key Objectives:
Provide expert technical assistance for integrated manufacturing systems utilized in the production of contact lenses. This encompasses specialized automated production machinery, robotics, machine tools, computer systems, and material handling apparatus.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main engineering resource for contact lens production.
- Facilitate resolution of significant issues by acting as a bridge between maintenance and engineering teams.
- Ensure optimal mechanical configuration of major subsystems, conducting essential alignments and reprogramming as required.
- Perform daily tasks that involve monitoring production lines and confirming that all critical equipment operates at peak efficiency.
- Assist in training maintenance personnel on correct alignment and setup methods, as well as root cause analysis of frequent failures.
- Examine major quality incidents and document identified root causes to support the quality assurance department.
- Initiate and oversee equipment enhancement projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering is mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency in evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.
- Experience with CAD, CAM, data analysis software, and related tools.
- Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and management capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- High level of technical knowledge.
- Analytical thinking skills are essential.
Work Schedule:
This role follows a 12-hour day shift schedule, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, rotating every two weeks.
Compensation:
As mandated by New York State's pay transparency legislation, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range for roles that may be performed in New York State. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including skill set, experience level, and specific office location. For New York State, the starting salary range for this position is $60,000 annually.
