Job Title: Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at Hunt Electric Corporation. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for marketing, estimating, project administration, planning, scheduling, and reporting for small to medium-sized power-limited construction, maintenance, and recurring revenue projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively seek out and pursue new opportunities for growth for both maintenance and construction projects.
  • Track all opportunities as well as the eventual outcomes in order to modify strategy as needed for future growth.
  • Accurately interpret design drawings submitted by customers or engineers.
  • Estimate labor, materials, and administrative costs for team projects.
  • Utilize estimating software to create project take-offs.
  • Address and resolve project challenges with the Sales, Preconstruction, Designers, Project Managers, and General Foreman.
  • Maintain existing and develop new customer relationships to secure future business.
  • Work closely with pre-construction and sales teams for project handoff/kickoff to project management team.
  • Manage assigned projects as economically as possible while recognizing commitment to customer satisfaction, quality workmanship, and positive industry image.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' experience in estimating on commercial/industrial construction projects.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform difficult and complex estimating activities along with a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, drawings and specifications, project controls, and the ability to implement industry best practices for different types of facilities and industries.
  • Strong computer skills including the experience using estimating software, Microsoft Office, online plan rooms, and database applications.
  • Experience in a complex business as an active participant in driving growth and change; demonstrated effectiveness in driving operations and executing plans.
  • Ability to cultivate and grow lasting business relationships both internally and externally.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic computerized estimating skills using electrical estimating software; experience with Enterprise is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge in the use of Bluebeam software for estimating and construction-related purposes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a manner that ensures timely and accurate completion of all assigned tasks.
