About the Position::

As our Retail Operations Leader, you will exemplify outstanding guest service for team members in your store.
In your leadership role, you will manage talent within your store (enhancing team member engagement, boosting retention, and maximizing productivity). You will utilize your resources to make informed business decisions that yield results.What You'll Do::
You will serve as the store ambassador and a model of exceptional hospitality for our guests and team members. Your responsibilities include delivering extraordinary service and ensuring that all team members follow suit. You will also be accountable for driving success in your store and assisting The Fresh Market in sustaining growth.
As such, you will:
- Educate team members and guests on products and services to provide convenient meal solutions
- Collaborate with Department Managers and Assistant Store Manager to ensure consistent execution of key operational processes and merchandising plans
- Drive success by analyzing sales reports, P&L reports, and other metrics to develop and implement action plans
- Establish and maintain open, effective communication with all team members and upper management, ensuring transparency at all levels
- Forecast and maintain store teams by partnering with Talent Acquisition in sourcing, selecting, and hiring new team members
- Train, develop, and coach Assistant Managers and team members
- Instruct Assistant Managers on managing and merchandising The Fresh Market products, driving financial metrics, and engaging all team members
- Guide all team members on optimizing operations, enhancing team development, and increasing retention
- Motivate team members to educate themselves and others about product uses and characteristics through The Fresh Market Academy, aiming to enhance retention and professional growth
- Collaborate with the Guest Services Manager to provide team members with a welcoming orientation and onboarding experience
- Oversee the store, inventories, and teams to minimize product loss
- Ensure adherence to The Fresh Market standards and policies by your team members
- Engage with your local community for weekly sales or special offerings
- Ensure departmental compliance with all safety requirements and protocols, including food safety, sanitation, and risk practices per TFM policies and applicable laws
Availability::
This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
Qualifications::
At a minimum, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience as a retail store manager in relevant traffic, volume, and unit intensity
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Proven oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with your team, management, and guests
- Ability to read, understand, and follow policies and procedures
- Ability to interpret planograms, layouts, and schematics for merchandising
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in Perishable, Hospitality, and/or Grocery Retail
- Familiarity with Production Planning Software
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Software (iCIMS preferred)
Physical and Work Conditions:
- Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds independently, exposure to extreme temperatures
- Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment (unless under the age of 18)
- Required to spend long periods on feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law)
- Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment
