The Lead Windows Systems Architect plays a pivotal role within the Digital Unit Engineering team. This position focuses on the design and creation of Windows images for deployment by our manufacturing partners. You will also be instrumental in formulating strategies to enhance the efficiency of Windows image creation, thereby expediting value delivery for the organization while ensuring a secure and compliant framework.

Core Responsibilities

  • Hands-on expertise in developing Windows system images for Windows 10 & 11, with additional experience in IoT Enterprise Edition being advantageous.
  • Proficient in utilizing Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), PowerShell, Windows SysInternals, Windows Event Log, Active Directory, and shell scripting.
  • Experience in Windows administration, including policy management.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale Windows deployments effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills to resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and rapid iterative development processes.
  • A dedicated approach to ownership, ensuring that deliverables consistently meet high standards of quality and performance.

Qualifications

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in defining the strategy for creating base and product-specific Windows images for manufacturing deployment, incorporating source control and automation to ensure reproducible, efficient, and high-quality images.
  • Collaborate with the IoMT team to develop strategies for deploying and monitoring Windows Updates across all operational nodes.
  • Oversee the complete development lifecycle for Windows images, from design and coding to testing and maintenance, ensuring that the final products meet customer expectations.
  • Implement comprehensive testing methodologies, including automated tests, to validate product functionality and reliability.
  • Provide support to other product teams and Customer Support in troubleshooting complex technical challenges, ensuring smooth operations for our clients.
  • Develop image patch releases to address issues identified in the field.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Windows image creation and deployment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
