About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned UX leader to join our team at Amazon Benefits Experience & Technology. As a Principal UX Designer, you'll be responsible for defining the UX vision and strategy for our emerging product, which impacts Amazon's global workforce.

You'll analyze customer problems and oversee the design of delightful solutions that meet business goals. Your expertise in user-centered design, information architecture, and interaction design will be invaluable in creating user-friendly experiences.

Key responsibilities include working closely with product and business partners to develop a shared vision, leading the design process, and mentoring other designers to elevate the team's work.

Additional expectations include leading with passion and conviction, raising the bar on design quality, and driving operational excellence at scale.

A day in the life of this role involves defining and articulating the future vision for how employees discover and manage their benefits. You'll develop strong relationships with fellow design leaders and partner closely with product management, engineering, and business counterparts to launch innovative experiences.

Using data and customer insights, you'll facilitate constructive design debates, influence product priorities, and advocate for the needs of employees.

As the creative lead, you'll provide design oversight for a pod of designers, regularly reviewing designs and concepts with customers, cross-functional partners, executives, and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of design experience
  • Available online portfolio
  • Experience with best practices for User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design
  • Experience in life cycle design projects from design strategy through execution
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing large-scale systems and applications
  • Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data
