Job Summary

Catholic Charities Diocese is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Refugee Resettlement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Refugee Services department, you will play a vital role in supporting the successful resettlement of refugees in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resettlement Services: Provide a range of specialized services to support the economic self-sufficiency and effective resettlement of refugees, including pre-arrival services, welcome and transportation, and post-arrival support.
  • Case Management: Develop, coordinate, and implement individualized resettlement service plans for refugees, ensuring timely delivery of core services and addressing individual needs.
  • Community Orientation: Conduct program and community orientation, providing refugees with essential information about public benefits, community resources, and cultural adaptation.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive case files, prepare reports, and submit data as required by funders and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with colleagues, community partners, and refugees to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate's degree and/or 1-3 years of experience in social services and/or nonprofit work, with proficiency in the language and cultural background of refugee populations.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid California Driver's License, safe driving record, and successful completion of a DOJ live scan and FBI fingerprint check.
