The International Rescue Committee is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Grants Management Intern to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a Grants Management Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in grant management, proposal development, and stakeholder analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development and maintenance of grant management databases, including Asana and Salesforce.
- Conduct research on grant opportunities and assist in the development of grant proposals.
- Support the Grants Coordinator and Grants Specialist in the development of stakeholder analysis projects.
- Update program materials, including one-pagers, concept notes, and office brochures.
- Aid in post-award activities, including reporting reminders and creating Grant Summary Sheets and Compliance Cheat Sheets.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the Development Team and bi-weekly staff meetings.
- Gain experience in grant management, a crucial skill for career advancement in the non-profit sector.
- Learn about the pre-award process for building a funding portfolio in a non-profit.
- Gain knowledge of the post-award process as it relates to program implementation, management, reporting, and compliance.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of IRC Resettlement, Asylum, & Integration programming.
- Gain experience drafting material for internal marketing and/or communications of aligned projects.
- Currently enrolled graduate student or undergraduate student (or graduated within one year) in a related field such as International Relations/Development, Social Work, Global Human resources, Learning and Development; Non-Profit Management, or International Business.
- Excellent organization skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate.
- Comfort with research, organizing content, and liaising with staff.
- Strong writing skills and graphic design experience.
- Detail-oriented and able to multi-task efficiently.
- Ability to use basic functions of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- English fluency is required.
- Experience with Asana (a web app designed to organize, track, and manage) is a plus.
