DEPARTMENT: Refugee Services

REPORTS TO: Program Manager, Refugee Services

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

TIME COMMITMENT: Full-time (40 hours/week), early morning or early evening, and one weekend day per week

SALARY: $18-$20 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Program Director and Case Managers, the Safe Passages Case Aide will assist in conducting Home Studies (HS) and Post Release Services (PRS) for unaccompanied minors reuniting with their sponsors. The Case Aide plays a crucial role in supporting the Program Director with data management and ensuring quality assurance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and professional documentation of case records to meet accreditation and funding standards.
  • Coordinate home visits for Case Managers.
  • Connect clients with relevant resources, including education, mental health, and legal services through internal or external community referrals.
  • Fulfill reporting obligations for USCCB, ORR.DCS, program administration, and other relevant entities.
  • Guarantee the accuracy and reliability of reported information.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all client data.
  • Uphold professional boundaries with clients at all times.
  • Assist in quality improvement initiatives, including file completeness reviews and audits.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, partners, and the community.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local community social services and the ability to collaborate with partners and affiliates.
  • Understanding of family preservation, kinship care, and child welfare.
  • Experience working with immigrant populations.
  • Effective and tactful communication skills with clients, colleagues, and others in a diverse, multicultural environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic record-keeping systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proper grammar.
  • Familiarity with data management software and databases for tracking service delivery is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Safe driving record as evidenced by a DMV report showing no violations or restrictions.
  • Successful completion of a CPS Background Investigation.
  • Successful completion of an FBI fingerprint check for national and state criminal history.
  • Tuberculin Skin Test.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred).
