Job Overview

SUMMARY
This position is accountable for driving sales of both existing and new products across a specified territory, ensuring that customer satisfaction and fulfillment requirements are consistently met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Operating a delivery vehicle to transport products to clients.
  • Managing stock rotation on the vehicle and in retail locations to guarantee product freshness and compliance with quality standards.
  • Engaging with store management to secure additional display areas and shelf space.
  • Promoting the complete product range.
  • Actively pursuing new client opportunities.
  • Establishing organized and appealing product displays while adhering to store guidelines.
  • Loading and unloading merchandise.
  • Keeping a detailed route log that includes directions, stop order, and contact information.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment.
  • Utilizing handheld technology for sales transactions and cash handling.
  • Completing order forms and sales agreements.

QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must be capable of fulfilling each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One to three months of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing common inquiries or complaints from customers in both individual and small group settings.
  • Mathematical proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate ratios and percentages.
  • Common sense understanding to execute verbal or written instructions.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, lift, and use hands and fingers for routine tasks.
  • Must have corrected vision to 20/40 or better.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and lift up to 10 pounds to shoulder height and above.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions while performing job duties.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Achieves sales targets in at least 10 out of 13 periods.
  • Maintains acceptable product freshness standards.
  • Takes proactive steps to secure necessary display space.
  • Effectively sells new products as needed.
  • Successfully acquires new accounts as required.
  • Maintains a positive demeanor consistently.
  • Maintains a satisfactory driving record.
  • Upholds professionalism in all equipment and personal presentation.
