Job Summary

The Director of Security will be a key member of the PSEG Long Island leadership team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Business Services. This role is responsible for directing and overseeing the implementation of PSEG Long Island's physical safety and security operations to mitigate risks and protect company personnel, assets, and information. The Director will ensure governance and oversight while successfully executing PSEG LI's security mission, incorporating established industry standards and meeting regulatory requirements as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with PSEG LI leadership to formulate and execute a comprehensive security strategy that aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Establish security policies and procedures in compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Lead a team of security professionals to manage daily security operations, including physical security, access control, surveillance systems, and incident response.
  • Oversee risk assessment and mitigation strategies, utilizing key performance indicators and core monitoring tools, while developing an effective Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management framework.
  • Create and implement a robust incident response plan, coordinating with stakeholders, managing crisis situations, and providing guidance during emergencies.
  • Design and deliver training programs on best practices to foster a strong safety and security culture at PSEG LI.
  • Ensure governance and oversight of all PSEG LI safety and security programs and operations, coordinating with the PSEG Corporate Security lead to align with the Corporate Security mission.
Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree with post-undergraduate education in Finance, Human Resources, Strategic Management, or Security Management, along with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including 4 years in a managerial role.
  • Extensive knowledge of the security industry, gained from a prior leadership position in government service, law enforcement, or a major corporation, managing a diverse team of security professionals.
  • Familiarity with the electric industry, including generation, transmission, distribution, and customer operations.
  • Demonstrated alignment with and contributions to major private security and industry organizations to maintain PSEG LI's reputation as a leader in the security sector.
  • Valid US driver's license.
Desired
  • Master's Degree with executive-level education in Finance, Strategic Management, and Security Management.
  • CPP (Certified Protection Professional) certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate security operations, with a minimum of 15 years of experience leading a major corporate security organization, ideally from a combination of law enforcement, military, and corporate backgrounds.
  • Leadership experience in a major private security organization or industry association.
