Position Summary:

The Boeing Company is in search of a Senior Product Review Engineer to join our Defense, Space & Security division. This role will focus on supporting commercial derivative aircraft programs. We seek proactive individuals who are adept at making swift engineering decisions and are eager to engage directly with production teams for hands-on engineering solutions. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for partnering effectively with production staff.

The selected candidate will primarily work the first shift, with potential rotations to second shift and weekend or daily overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage extensive knowledge of Boeing's design and engineering principles.
  • Identify and resolve product and process challenges throughout the product lifecycle, leading investigations into technical, operational, and quality issues that require innovative engineering solutions.
  • Guide teams in conducting root cause analyses and developing corrective actions for design non-conformances.
  • Initiate and implement product and process enhancements.
  • Employ creative strategies to address complex nonconforming conditions and identify deviations.
  • Evaluate reported issues for potential safety implications and oversee the resolution process, leading the development of both interim and final solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during the design phase by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design evaluations.
  • Act as a representative of the engineering community throughout the production and post-production phases.
  • Ensure compliance of suppliers and build partners with Boeing standards.
  • Develop customer communications to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of equipment, leading efforts for on-site repair teams and investigations.
  • Design effective jacking and shoring schemes.
  • Lead the design of temporary structural repairs and perform static strength assessments.
  • Create and oversee non-destructive testing procedures, tools, and standards.
  • Develop and implement technical training programs for internal or external stakeholders.
  • Support all Structural and Electrical Liaison Engineering/Design Engineering roles as necessary for various aircraft fleets.
  • Platforms supported will include the Executive Transport Fleet, specifically the 747.

Work Environment:

This position is expected to be fully onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work at one of the designated locations.

Security Clearance:

This position necessitates the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance is required post-start.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
  • Current MRB (Material Review Board) certification or certification within the past two years.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of structural and electrical repairs to restore aircraft or systems to their original design capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in interpreting and creating engineering drawings, specifications, and design manuals.
  • At least 8 years of experience in avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting.
  • Experienced in researching engineering designs to develop solutions for product and process issues.
  • At least 8 years of experience in conducting analyses and drafting dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in identifying and evaluating opportunities for product/process improvements.
  • MRB/Universal Product Review approval authority certification.
  • Experience in executive interior installation and design.
  • Modification and repair experience on wide-body aircraft.

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's with 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience, or PhD with 4 or more years' experience in a relevant field.
