The successful candidate will possess a solid history of effective project design across various construction endeavors. In this position, you will take charge of the design workflow, create construction documentation, collaborate with project managers, and ensure that projects are executed within financial constraints and to the satisfaction of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Steer the design workflow from initial concept through to construction documentation, engaging closely with clients, consultants, and team members.
- Formulate and uphold project timelines, financial plans, and construction documentation.
- Supervise and manage construction administration, which includes reviewing shop drawings and conducting site assessments.
- Guarantee that projects adhere to building codes, regulations, and zoning laws.
- Work collaboratively with clients, engineers, and contractors to address design challenges and ensure construction aligns with design objectives.
- Lead project teams and provide mentorship to junior personnel.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project discussions.
- Maintain precise project documentation and ensure that project files are current.
- Engage in regular communication with clients and team members to confirm that project goals are being achieved.
- Continuously enhance the design and documentation process to improve efficiency and quality.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil design and project oversight.
- Licensed engineer in South Dakota or capable of obtaining a license within 6 months of employment.
- Proficient in civil design software.
- Strong design and technical capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Experience with commercial and infrastructure projects.
- Expertise in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, and regulatory approvals.
