Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Media Relations Lead who is enthusiastic about the web3 landscape. This role involves spearheading media engagement efforts, ensuring robust media and content representation across key messaging domains for Aptos and its ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute a detailed media relations plan that aligns with our organizational objectives.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the organization and the media, including journalists, bloggers, and influencers within the blockchain and technology fields.
  • Compose persuasive press releases, media outreach communications, and presentations to highlight our technological advancements, partnerships, and significant achievements.
  • Track media coverage and industry developments to pinpoint opportunities and challenges for media interaction.
  • Oversee crisis communication and address media inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate and facilitate media briefings and interviews.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing and executive teams to ensure unified messaging across all channels.
  • Evaluate and report on the success of media relations initiatives and modify strategies as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related discipline.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in Web3 is essential.
  • 7-10 years of experience in media relations or public relations, ideally within the blockchain, technology, or fintech industries.
  • A strong network of media contacts and a successful history of securing coverage in leading outlets.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex blockchain concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting while managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong analytical abilities and a knack for utilizing data to guide decision-making.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $135k-175k. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and typical maximum target for new hire salaries for the position of a candidate based in the Bay Area at any level. We do hire exceptionally talented professionals with decades of experience in their field. As such, our range may be higher than what is displayed. Our base salary ranges are determined by experience and location, and we hire at all levels for multiple roles. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills demonstrated during the interviews, working experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include equity, tokens, or benefits.
