Job Overview

Epacenter is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Media Arts Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our education department, you will be responsible for teaching youth, ages 12-17, the fundamentals of film production, including pre-production, production, and post-production techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and curriculum for film production classes
  • Teach and mentor students in a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective education program
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in media production, filmmaking, or a related field
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience teaching film production or a related subject
  • Strong knowledge of film production techniques and industry-standard software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build strong relationships with students, families, and community partners
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with youth in a educational or community setting
  • Knowledge of positive youth development strategies and principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is a plus
