Key Responsibilities

The Lead Mechanical Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and directing the mechanical engineering, design, procurement, and construction activities of project teams to fulfill client objectives in alignment with contractual agreements. This role involves:

  • Implementing and upholding project principles and practices to ensure the effective and safe utilization of resources.
  • Exercising sound judgment and experience to explore alternatives and achieve optimal solutions within budget and time constraints.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in team and project execution, and implementing enhancements in processes and personnel.
  • Managing multiple projects and client engagements simultaneously.

Additionally, the Lead Mechanical Project Coordinator is tasked with fostering new business relationships with clients, continuously seeking opportunities to provide mechanical engineering, design, and construction services.

Project Management Duties

This leadership role within ITAC's construction divisions requires a deep understanding of the specific trade, along with the ability to supervise construction activities and manage work crews effectively. Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating requests for quotations and determining project suitability.
  • Preparing detailed proposals, work scopes, and schedules.
  • Identifying opportunities for in-house fabrication.
  • Developing execution plans and schedules using ITAC's Assured Project Management (APM) methodologies.
  • Coordinating with engineering and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conducting kick-off meetings to establish safety plans, roles, and communication strategies.
  • Providing essential project information to field supervisors and subcontractors.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical construction project management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience managing project responsibilities exceeding $2.5 million.
  • OSHA 10 certification is required.
  • Experience in checkout, commissioning, and startup processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
  • Experience with Procore is preferred.
