Overview

LMI seeks a Shipyard Installation Project Site Lead with experience in facility and infrastructure engineering, sensor technology installation, and shipyard operations. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our clients achieve their missions. As part of our high-performing team, you will be the site lead responsible for coordinating all activities required to replace RFID technology at one of four locations (Norfolk, Va, Bremerton, Wa, Pearl Harbor, HI, or Portsmouth, NH) while considering legacy infrastructure constraints. Active security clearance required; applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for coordinating the replacement and deployment of shipyard sensor systems, providing infrastructure design and planning technical expertise, coordinating field activities, and overseeing execution as an extension of the Program Management Team. Once systems have been deployed, you will inspect project sites and systems, and identify technical and sustainment issues. You will serve as a site lead executing the deployment activities per plan from installation logistics, testing, and training to ensure a smooth transition to operational status. The role requires you to rely on extensive engineering experience, collaborative stakeholder engagement skillsets, and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May lead and direct the work of others, including a cross-functional team of employees and subcontractors.

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee and execute project implementation at Pearl Harbor Naval ShipyardIdentify migration strategies to transition from legacy systems and technologies to modernized solutions.Prepare and update installation schedule in coordination with government and subcontractor leadsConduct site design reviews and recommend installation alternativesProvide detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimizations, and enhancements for critical challengesCollect and analyze project data to advise program management team of issues and recommended solutionsConduct site surveys and walk-throughs during planning phaseRecommend infrastructure enhancements required for successful system implementationResponsible for daily implementation operations across diverse team of subcontractor installation expertsConduct status updates with stakeholders Ensure installation adheres to planned scheduleReport daily status updates to Program Management TeamIdentify and overcome obstacles, recommend corrective actions, and mitigate project risk.Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in relevant fieldAt least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related areaProven experience initiating, supervising, developing requirements, plans, and schedules from a project's inception to conclusion for complex programsProven experience providing strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to project installation staffStrong ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including military leadership, government agencies, private sector partners, and international allies, for successful technology development and integrationExperience with industry Sensor / IOTFamiliarity with shipyard infrastructure and RFID technologyExperience leading multi-disciplinary teams and sub-contractorsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePointAbility to communicate clearly, both oral and written, with a variety of stakeholdersAbility to effectively solve problemsExperience handling multiple, demanding, and complex tasks in a timely manner with accurate resultsActive security clearance required; applicant must be a U.S. Citizen Preferred: Experience with Navy Shipyard automationExperience with Naval shipyard operations or facilities at the subject locationExperience in industrial operationsExperience with RFID readers and their installation.
