Overview:


Pavilion-8 is an intermediate surgical and medical unit featuring 30 private rooms, designed to function as a complete intermediate care facility, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

Our surgical offerings encompass ENT, Vascular, Plastic Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and Urology.


Our leadership framework includes a clinical director, an assistant clinical director, clinical nurse managers, and a clinical educator, all focused on supporting our staff and ensuring patient safety.

Pavilion-8 is supported by unit secretaries, critical care associates, and registered nurses available seven days a week. Our nursing staff operates with ratios ranging from 3:1 to 6:1, depending on unit census and patient acuity. We aim for all our nurses to be cross-trained in surgical intermediate care within their first year at Cooper.


Pavilion-8 promotes a collaborative environment with our providers, as our Advanced Practice Nurses and Surgical Residents are readily accessible for support, inquiries, and guidance regarding patient care.

Their offices are located within the unit, alongside our leadership team and transitional care team.

Short Description:
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists patients with daily living activities and care plans.

Facilitates communication and support among the healthcare team, patients, and/or their families or significant others.

Upholds and exemplifies high standards of professional ethics.

Experience Required:
A minimum of one year of patient care experience in a comparable role.

Education Requirements:
Completion of at least one foundational nursing course in an accredited RN Program.

Successful completion of an unlicensed healthcare provider/technician program.

High school diploma or GED.

License/Certification Requirements:
AHA Basic Life Support certification.

Special Requirements:
Must successfully complete EKG and Phlebotomy training during orientation.
