Position Overview

This role is pivotal in overseeing the formulation and justification of the Company's Net Power Costs (NPC) inputs across various regulatory filings and proceedings. The incumbent will provide technical guidance and oversight on NPC production modeling and forecasting efforts, while also enhancing the team's knowledge and skill set in technical, analytical, and modeling disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the creation of net power cost reporting and analysis, including modeling that simulates the Company's load and resource dynamics under diverse system conditions.
  • Prepare and substantiate net power cost regulatory submissions, encompassing general rate cases and power cost adjustment mechanisms, both in written formats and as a witness.
  • Represent PacifiCorp in presentations to regulators and other external stakeholders.
  • Offer technical direction on the design and optimization of production cost models to enhance efficiency, standardization, and reliability of model inputs and outputs.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure uniform practices in production cost modeling.
  • Design and oversee the development of innovative models and modeling techniques for simulating company resources and special project requirements.
  • Work with management to set timelines for reviewing net power cost outcomes and strategic analyses.
  • Prepare and evaluate responses to discovery inquiries.
  • Mentor modeling staff, advocate for best practices, and ensure documentation of processes for effective resource management.
  • Assess the implications of changes to modeling inputs and support departmental management in implementing these changes.
  • Collaborate with team leads to promote efficient management and cross-training among resources.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent education and experience.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in revenue requirement preparation, net power cost simulation modeling, cost of service analysis, or related analytical roles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the company's resource system, including transmission systems, thermal resources, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and capacity to engage with diverse organizational levels and backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering trust and understanding in social interactions.
  • Proficient in effective oral and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.

Compensation Range: $115,900 - $136,300
This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15% of salary.
