Role Overview

The Net Power Cost Adviser will spearhead the development and defense of the Company's Net Power Costs (NPC) inputs across various regulatory filings and proceedings. This position will provide technical guidance and oversight for NPC production modeling and forecasting initiatives, while also leading efforts to enhance resource efficiency and the technical proficiency of the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the creation of net power cost reports, analyses, and simulations to model the Company's loads and resources under diverse system conditions.
  • Prepare and advocate for net power cost regulatory submissions, including rate cases and adjustment mechanisms, both in written form and as a witness.
  • Represent PacifiCorp in presentations to regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Offer technical leadership on the design and optimization of production cost models to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure standardized practices in production cost modeling.
  • Guide the development of innovative models and techniques for simulating company resources and special projects.
  • Work with management to set timelines for reviewing net power cost outcomes and strategies.
  • Prepare and evaluate responses to discovery requests.
  • Mentor modeling staff, promote best practices, and ensure documentation for efficient resource management.
  • Analyze the effects of changes in modeling inputs and support departmental management in implementing these changes.
  • Collaborate with team leads to ensure effective management and cross-training within the team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • At least seven years of experience in revenue requirement preparation, net power cost simulation modeling, or related analytical roles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the company's resource systems, including transmission constraints and resource management.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to engage with diverse organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build trust and understand interpersonal dynamics.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
