Bonneville Power Administration is seeking a highly skilled General Engineer/Physical Scientist/Operations Research Analyst to join our team.

About the Position

This position is located within Generation Asset Management, a division of Power Services, and will serve as a specialist in one of three key functional areas in support of the operation of the Federal Columbia River Power System resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide long-term inventory forecasts, including resource adequacy, needs assessment, and support for the resource program.
  • Perform system planning and analyses for rate development, Biological Opinion modeling, and long-term changes in non-power requirements.
  • Lead development of Long-Term Adequacy Reports for long-term planning needs.
  • Coordinate with regional reliability organizations on activities for long-term adequacy assessments and reporting.
  • Perform special studies, such as climate change analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET.
  • Or, a combination of education and experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering.
Specialized Experience Requirements
  • GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in applying professional engineering, scientific, and/or mathematical principles and practices.
  • GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-09) in performing, interpreting, and correlating various calculations, analyses, and computations.
