Role Overview

This position is responsible for spearheading the development and advocacy of the Company's Net Power Costs (NPC) inputs across various regulatory filings and proceedings. The role demands technical leadership and oversight of NPC production modeling and forecasting activities. Additionally, it involves guiding the team to enhance resource efficiency and continually elevate the technical and analytical capabilities of the staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the creation of net power cost reports, analyses, and modeling, simulating the Company's loads and resources under diverse system conditions.
  • Prepare and defend regulatory filings related to net power costs, including general rate cases and various adjustment mechanisms, both in written form and as a witness.
  • Represent PacifiCorp in presentations to regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Provide expert guidance on the design and optimization of production cost models to improve efficiency, standardization, and reliability of model inputs and outputs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure uniform practices in production cost modeling.
  • Design and oversee the development of innovative models and techniques for simulating the company's resources and special projects.
  • Work with management to set timelines for reviewing net power cost results and strategy.
  • Prepare and evaluate responses to discovery requests.
  • Mentor modeling staff, promote best practices, and ensure thorough documentation of processes for effective resource management.
  • Analyze the effects of changes in modeling inputs and support departmental management in implementing these changes.
  • Collaborate with team leads to ensure efficient management and cross-training within the team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent education and experience.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in revenue requirement preparation, net power cost simulation modeling, or related analytical fields.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the company's resource system, including transmission systems, thermal resources, and risk management.
  • Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to collaborate with diverse individuals across the organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering trust and understanding.
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
