Job Summary

UF Health is seeking a highly skilled Financial Specialist-CP I Financial Arrangements I Day to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations, you will be responsible for managing high-dollar outpatient service accounts to ensure timely financial reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex service accounts, including initial authorization and ongoing monitoring for re-authorization.
  • Perform referral processing, registration, and authorization/precertification as required.
  • Process Point of Service Collections and posting within Epic, as well as financial counseling and patient financial responsibility calculations.
  • Monitor and maintain applicable EPIC work queues, and balance the EPIC cash drawer daily.
  • Secure approvals from third-party payers by providing detailed clinical information and/or coordinating peer-to-peer reviews.
  • Secure signatures on regulatory documents.
  • Represent the Financial Division as a member of various intra-operational teams, providing financial perspectives required to make treatment or rescheduling decisions.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; college degree or related coursework desired.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a financial specialist/counselor required, or 3 years of relative experience.
  • Working knowledge of medical and insurance industry terminology required.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, recognize and react to changing priorities, and make timely and accurate judgment decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in applications and ability to work with multiple computer systems.
