Fairway Management, Inc. operates as a multi-state property management firm, focusing on the affordable housing sector. The organization oversees approximately 250 senior and multifamily tax credit and rural development properties across multiple states.

Role Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the entire invoice processing workflow to ensure compliance with both company policies and governmental regulations. This role requires timely mailing of processed payments and collaboration with the operations team to uphold commitments to vendors and external partners. Additionally, the specialist will work closely with accountants to address any invoicing issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Input incoming invoices into the accounting system.
  2. Ensure that invoice entries comply with all necessary regulations.
  3. Process monthly mortgage payments, annual taxes, and other miscellaneous payments.
  4. Maintain timely and professional communication with Property Managers and vendors.
  5. Collaborate with staff accountants to resolve any discrepancies or inquiries.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Intermediate understanding of Accounts Payable practices.
  • Intermediate data entry skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with Onesite accounting software is preferred.
  • Advanced customer service abilities.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all work.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment.
